Free House Cleaning for Cancer Patients – Try Cleaning for a Reason
Cancer patients are often fatigued from their treatments and medications. There’s only so much a cancer patient can do in a day when going to and from doctors appointments to just trying to get through the day without feeling too weak and tired. The very last thing on a cancer patient’s mind, especially for women who may be responsible for running a home, is keeping the house clean.
That’s where amazing organizations, like Cleaning for a Reason, can help. Cleaning for a Reason helps cancer patients by offering free house cleaning in the United States. The volunteers at Cleaning for a Reason understand the toll cancer treatments can take on a person — it drains your energy, sometimes for weeks on end, leaving cancer patients not able to keep up with trying to maintain their lives as “normal” as possible as they were before cancer.
Cleaning for a Reason offers cancer patients free house cleaning and maid service once a month, for four months. This cleaning service is offered in all 50 states through the support of partner organizations who choose to participate. Debbie Sardone, Founder of Cleaning for a Reason, decided years ago while running a cleaning service that she would offer these free cleaning services to cancer patients when she received a phone call for an estimate from a woman undergoing chemotherapy. Debbie said, “I gave her a quote over the phone and she said, ‘Oh, I really can’t afford that right now. I’m going through chemotherapy and radiation and I’m not working. So maybe when I’m better I can call you.’ And she hung up the phone. And I realized I missed an opportunity.”
Cancer patients themselves, or their family or friends, can apply for them by logging onto the Cleaning for a Reason website.
